I seem to recall that when I watched this on VHS back in the late 90's there was a part where when Dracula is staked by Van Helsing there's a close up of Dracula's face and blood begins to come out of his mouth, and yet it's not on the DVD. I could be wrong! but I seem remember with this version.

That's an alternate take used for the U.K. theatrical release print. The bloody scenes were included on the VHS edition. The DVD has the blood-less staking scenes of both Lucy and Dracula.

shareI just saw the version on Plex and it included the close-up of Drac's face with blood coming out of his mouth (it's the 1 hour, 38-minute rendition).
