It Was Very Scary (In 1975 for a 10 year old)

I was alone at age 10 for this late night movie. It scared the crap out of me. This movie, SSSSSSS, and Grizzly are the only 3 movies that literally scared me. To this day I am deathly afraid of Vampires, Snakes and Grizzly Bears.

Whoaaa I saw those as well! Palance did a great job in this movie, and I really liked that they put in some of the back story of who Vlad Tsepes was, and got the audience to understand that the man was, in his own time, some kind of warrior also. It was a nice touch.

I saw the original broadcast when I was 12. This is literally the last movie that scared the bejeebers out of me. Jack Palance looking into the camera and snarling, "You're in my domain now!" kept me awake a few nights.

Gotta agree with ya! I saw this back in the early - mid seventies when I was in grade school. Scared the crap out of me. If it wasn't for the series Bronk, I would have thought he WAS a vampire. Jack died earlier today, and will be missed by all.

I too was very young when this masterpiece hit television. It scared the crap out of me. That and the TV show "The Night Stalker" really made me afraid to close my eyes. In my opinion the best "Dracula" movie ever made. I was so very happy to get this on DVD.

Late to the party, but thought I would add my $.02. Like many of you I saw this when initially broadcast on TV. I was 9 at the time. I remember the previews weeks before and was so excited. My dad was a horror fan and we watched it together. Needeless to say it caused me great anxiety for a long time. Palance captured the agony and rage of Dracula perfectly.

I actually just saw this for the first time today on DVD. I thought it was OK. Not my favorite Dracula film but it is still worth watching.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

Is this the version where Dracula brought to his vampire brides a bag with a baby in it and it showed the women picking up the baby and baring their fangs?

No, that's this one, also a TV movie from the 70s:
