Does Laura become pregnant?

I have just discovered a significant sound in this movie. When Laura, Heather, and Wendy are alone in the dark room, the blind woman can hear something that the other two cannot: a baby. Does that imply that Laura is pregnant from her and John's 'restorative effort', or is the crying child a reference to Christie?
