talk about your early memories staying with you...

I saw this when I three... I remember watching it with my brother before we headed for the library for story time. I remember being terrified at the library and glad it was so well lighted. Our parents must have SO not figured something like that would be on that time of day back when we had so few channels. For YEARS I've thought of that little face peering up from under the table, or that quick glimpse in the plant pot, of those whispers echoing down what looked like a tunnel (chimney?)... those whispering voices! Finally, tonight, after going through lists of horror movies on Wikipedia for 1973 through 1975 (I knew it was in that range), I Googled "1970s horror little people in walls" - and the third hit was someone asking that question on Google answers. Now, almost 40 years later, I finally know! Man, this movie gave me nightmares for YEARS.

Anyway, it's been fun reading the memories of other folks on this forum, and knowing I wasn't the only one to be haunted by a showing of this on TV for so long afterwards!

I just finished watching this for the first time today and I am sure it will stay with me. I actually saw the remake a few months before this, but I think this one is superior to it in every way. I am glad I watched it and am sure I will watch it plenty more times after this.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.
