Let us all give thanks for the miracle that is Turner Underground. Amen.

Totally agree here ratgirlagogo . Overall TCM ( Turner Classic Movies ) is the best and most addictive channel on cable TV .

I'm watching this right now on TCM . According to Wikipedia's Profile for this " Z Film " ( and under the " Influence " section it states ) -- " This film may have been the inspiration for the Charlie's Angels television series. Aaron Spelling, who later produced the television series, was invited to the premiere of this movie, and the lead member of the squad was named Sabrina, just as in Charlie's Angels. Quentin Tarantino has cited the film as an influence on his Deadly Viper Assassination Squad in his film Kill Bill. " -- I thought that to be a most interesting bit of trivia . Thanks jamesbwill for your subject post .

The print they broadcast was excellent; great color and sharpness. Ten Violent Women that followed looked like a muddy dupe.

It seemed to me like there was bits missing, the beginnings of some of the scenes were cut. For instance, a lot of those scene transitions, with those multi-coloured motif seemed to be a lot more abrupt than I think they were supposed to be, like there was a bit of footage missing here and there. Was that the way the movie always was, or were they working from a damaged print or what?

Recorded this on my DVR, love TCM Underground they show alot of Cult Classics.

I agree with the previous poster, seems like alot of cutway shots, may be edited version that was shown, but I am not sure.

I know for a fact that when TCM showed Psychomania recently is was edited print.
This really sucks, because TCM is known for showing their movies UNCUT.

I was gonna say it could have been a TV edit that was done, as it seemed like some of the bad edits might coincide with where a commercial break might go. But now that I think that's not right, because for instance, after the skeet shooting scene, there's about three or four of those scene transitions in a row that seemed to be edited badly, and those were too closely spaced for each to represent an ad break.

Or maybe those were bits that were edited for time. If I remember correctly the running time was around 1 hour 34 minutes. That would give you enough time for around 26 minutes of ads for a two hour time slot, which sounds about right for 70's or 80's TV. And Wikipedia says the movie is supposed to around 1 hour 41 minutes, so it looks like that we may have indeed seen a cut print.

I wonder what the reasoning for this is. I wonder if they're doing it deliberately, or with some of these more obscure movies, either someone "grabbed" the wrong print, or perhaps the edited version is the only one that's still exists (or the only copies of the uncut versions are not broadcast quality condition).
