Off The Charts Masterpiece

This entire film, from the topical matter to the acting of Alain Delon and Jean Gabin to the photo direction to the scene-to-scene transition to the dialogue and to the score was exceedingly trenchant and profound and indurate and flawless.

Somewhat similar to Dancer In The Dark's ending sequence, except the entire film is the ending sequence, a full 94 minutes of an execution.

Shame on the Academy Awards for not nominating this film for Best Foreign Film, shame on the César Awards for ignoring the film entirely, shame on the people behind the film for not releasing it on DVD until 2005.

10/10, one of the most powerful films ever made, thank you Alain Delon and Jean Gabin.
