The stupity of the film is that no one speaks French!

Set in France, people with French names running around, yet no one speaks French. It was very jarring to see people in the street go up to each other and start conversations in English.

Movies are made in the language of the intended audience. This was intended for an American audience therefore they had to speak English.

reply

Are Americans really that uncultured to not want to immerse themselves into some culture? Just read subtitles for frick's sakes.

reply

Who the fuck wants to read while watching a film?

reply

When we watch anime or read manga, even if it is set in Rome or Germany, the language is still in Japanese.

reply

Anime is written for a Japanese audience.

reply

They spoke French. It was translated to English.

If you watched the Russian Sherlocks Holmes TV series would you ask why the characters don't speak English?

reply

They never spoke French. Don't lie.

reply

I guess you are being obtuse by choice and are proud of it. AKA trolling

reply

It has 3 versions, in English, French and Italian, you watched the English version.
