Jane is my favorite character in horror movies. She survived because of her wit, and you don't see that in horror too much. Nowadays, girls run away when they should stay put, and they hide when they should run. But Jane did everything just right. So smart to hide her belongings. So smart to not scream while she was watching the dismemberment. Martino's writing here was superb...
Yeah, she's the kind of character who I actually root for and want to see survive.

I liked her too. She did the right thing and stayed put when the killer was around. So often in modern horror, we see empty headed people run right into the path of danger instead of using their brain and hiding from the killer with the knife...This is how horror movie heroines should be.

Yeah she was smarter than most and thats sort of my problem is she should have stopped the killer.
The character earned the right
It was refreshing to see a woman in a horror film who didn't spend some/most of her time screaming. The scene where she's watching the killer cut up Katya's body was really effective.
The distance is nothing. The first step is the hardest.share
It was really good but she should have run - that was an unrealistic part for me. I know she is limping, but she spent most of the day with a mirror which seemed to leave hours for her to get out of the house and away from a killer. I'd look for a back exit.
