Just bought this AND its sequel for cheap!!!

As the title says, I just bought both these films on DVD for $5. Ive not had the chance to view them yet, but am looking forward to it. I played a few seconds of each scene from each DVD just so I know that the DVD works well...Both DVDs work fine...But I also noted that the soundtrack for both films seems to have that 'typical' early to mid 1970's funky sound...I LOVE it.

Ill let you know when Ive seen Cleopatra Jones and what I thought of it.

Ive heard the term 'blacksploitation' before, I have 'Blackula' and 'Scream Blackula Scream' on VHS and it mentions the term on the write-up, and I saw it in another thread on this films board..Is it a racist thing? What exactly IS 'Blackslpoitation'?

Blaxploitation is a film genre that emerged in the United States in the early 1970s when many exploitation films were made that targeted the urban black audience; the word itself is a portmanteau of the words “black” and “exploitation.” Blaxploitation films starred primarily black actors, and were the first to feature soundtracks of funk and soul music. Variety magazine credited Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song with the invention of the blaxploitation genre, although others argue that because the film was conceived and produced independently and directed by a black filmmaker, and did not exploit most of the common themes in the blaxploitation genre, it was not in fact a blaxploitation film. The Hollywood-financed film Shaft is closer to being blaxploitation, and thus, is more likely to have begun the genre.
