Good Transfer
Cleopatra Jones is perhaps
the best looking movie from
the black exploitation era
on DVD.
The colors are vibrant and
the image is comparable to
a first-run print.
This is important if the
atmosphere of the movie
is to be conveyed.

Indeed you are correct, this is an excellent transfer, someone did a very good job of putting it onto DVD.
shareWith big studio backing (Warner Bros) you can tell there was a healthy budget for film/cameras.
To be honest that polished feel and safe plot means it doesn't really feel like Blaxploitation, it's just a regular thriller with black actors.
Coffy is far more fun!
Just watched it again, but I remembered that, though the sound was pretty powerful for a mono track, the print had it's share of dirt and scratches. I was right. It needs a remastering and a Blu-Ray release.
shareI think WB gave the film a decent budget in the first place.
It's that man again!!
