Dick Randall is my hero:

Sure, the movie was crappy and wouldn't be in the top ten giallos, but I like the idea that he was a purveyor of the bizarre, strange, and kitsch. The recent USA dvd release by Mondo Macabro has some cool extras, esp. the little docu about Dick Randall and how he built his Eurotrash empire from wheeling and dealing. Damn. If I was to go into biz, this is the style I'd pursue: fun, no beating around the bush, hitting pay-dirt, traveling to exotic locations, and filming the sh!t I wanna film. Most excellent. The world owes this guy for making entertainment available to them.

Dick Randall was a real colorful guy indeed. I give him props for the wonderfully sleazy early 80's slasher "Pieces" alone. His movies are a good deal of trashy fun. The world of oddball exploitation cinema is a lesser place without Dick Randall in it.

I write bios, therefore I am.
