This movie is not very popular among the ruling class in Mexico

This movie is not very popular among the ruling class in Mexico. As a matter of fact, they tried to vanish it and for a long time, it was extremely hard to get a copy of it.

This movie presents the cynicism with which the ruling class has governed Mexico since very early in its history. Rampant racism against the Indian population, the gross corruption used to buy everything and anybody, as well as the simplicity and natural goodness of the regular Mexican folks.

We, citizens of other Latin American countries, find multiple similarities in what this movie tries to convey and our local governments. Corruption, abuse of power, traffic of influence, Media acquiescence with the status quo and the long-suffering goodness of our everyday people.

This movies should be a must see for every student, public official and politician. Even the clergy should be obligated to watch. They too would get some of that powder stuff at the end!
