This B-movie is likable;

-perhaps a bit dated-but that is also part of the charm of the BWCW !

Makeup is a little un-nerving,and Mathews gets into the part w\relish,i bet !

The boy is perfect and a tad precocious-but thats ok;

The outdoors add to the spookiness and the Mom is a Babe...

-plus Wilke is an ole veteran and i rather like him in this pix.

Finally,the Hippie camp and leader are a hoot and makes one realize just how old this film has become !

Yet it is an entertaining romp and a blissful way to wile away 90 minutes or so ....

Hey, you're right. The kid is good and the mother was definitely hot for an older woman. And every time I saw Wilke telling the kid there was no such thing as werewolves, it reminded me of him in the Magnificent 7 insisting he "won" the draw contest with James Coburn- what a great villain. And the hippies, especially the leader, were absolutely hilarious.

I remember seeing this movie as a kid. Now over 35 years later, I was surprised that on more than one occassion, I got chills watching this. Even though the movie is dated and campy and low-budget. I think the simple, slow moments of the werewolf approaching people who have no idea he was there are all that's need to invoke fear. Plus the movie was filmed where there were lots of trees, so the darkness and the cover the trees could provide helped make things scarier. So many other movies have big budgets and special effects up the whazoo, but they don't scare me. This one did. :-)

the hippies

Svengoolie pointed out that the head hippie also is the writer - I didn't check to see if he wrote the story or the screenplay.
