Death in Venice?
The mature man oogling the young guy at Piazza San Marco was a humorous riff on 1971 film DEATH IN VENICE, wasn't it?
I thought it was really funny & touching at the same time & glad it was included.
;)
The whole opening sequence was wonderfully written and directed. This reference is quite funny, but even works within the context of this film if you don't get the reference.
