2011: The Setting for BATTLE?

Lots of theories on this one, many approximations. I would like to suggest the year 2011? My desire to do this is because I just can't conceive that BATTLE took place almost three decades after CONQUEST. Here are my theories (comments encouraged):

1) "This armory has been my home for 27 years" -- This is the most troublesome of all the lines in the movie. So - is it conceivable that APE MANAGEMENT was formed, say, around late 1984? We can figure the 1983 plague hit in January 1983, so AM would have taken nearly two years. Could this work in presuming that Mandemus worked in an Ape Management armory (or any kind of mock war-time ape armory) from 1984 until 2011? (Hence, his '27 Years Armory Experience', all-inclusive) ?

2) "If we shoot, we break 12 years of peace" -- It could have been that a war began in 1991 at least partially as a panic to deal with the Ape Uprisings occurring across the board, and lasted 8 years, followed by 12 years of peace.

3) "When I was a boy he was my teacher" -- Virgil comes off to me as a younger ape (especially alongside the real old Mandemus, who they all consider "old") of about 26. So Mandemus could have taught Virgil as early as 1999 (starting after the war), when Virgil was about 14. That in turn would have made Virgil approximately age 6 in CONQUEST, where he might well recall "being electrically conditioned for obedience".

4) Kolp's Age -- Kolp looks nearly the same in CONQUEST and BATTLE. The real actor Severan Darden was in his 40s.. so we can figure he was around 34 in CONQUEST and 54 in BATTLE...?

5) Cornelius' Age - he can be 10 or 11, having been born right after the war, around 2000.

Any other questions or stubborn inconsistencies I've missed?
Personally, I hate the idea of the war lasting a long time. To me it is best as swift and over and done with, rather quickly. But with my above theory, the shortest it could have lasted was 8 years.
