Baby is just plain Wrong! And plain crazy tripped out!!!

Oct 2016 right prior Halloween & TCM channel is showing the movie "Baby ..."

This is wrong!Allbad!!! Insane!!!
& absurdly weird early 70's psychedelic wackiness!

And, it is so Bad that it is really good and very hard to turn it off.

Someone must have been reaching for PCP hopped up feminism? I dunno, but the Momma said she already raised 3 kids - all girls - and they aint in no diapers, inna crib, getting his babysitter caught up in a frenzied moment of 'breast-feeding' and within a minute later the baby sitter goes from crying to smiling to getting her azz whooped by the Momma & 3 adult sisters?!!!

Wow!

And then the compassionate social worker... Recently widowed, already having flashbacks of Baby being her Husband?!!! No ... Wrong, Allbad!!!

Then they caught Baby trying to charm the Social Worker? Next Baby is getting zapped with a cattle-prodder! Locked in a closet! Diapers and all ...

Then one of his sisters slips into Baby's crib on the late night tip, slips out of her camisole .... Whoa!

The actors in between these wild scenes have the most serious face, that makes it even more slightly remotely possible and subsequently more horrifying!

This is a stretched out wildly shocking movie, must see.

Yes! Watching it right now. Strange, Bizarre, Perverse...A perfect drive-in movie, which is where I first saw in in 1973, when I was 18, on a date. The movie was so weird, we forgot to make-out. lol. I always like Anjanette Comer. She looks prettier in other films she did, like "The Loved One", another classic that hardly gets shown. Ruth Roman, who plays the Mom, formed a vivid image in my mind that night of a perfect image of a rough tough glamorous bull-dyke, who would just as well whip ya as she would eff ya. ha. She's great in this freak show. The music is awful. Which makes it even more bad. All in all, one messed-up Masterpiece. Enjoy!😁

I just finished watching, I couldn't stop it was so unlike anything I've ever seen. Totally twisted, but fun. Didn't see the end coming at all.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one watching this, and coming on imdb to try and put together in my head what I just seen. Just wow, I have no words. I thought the movie on before this (It's Alive) was weird as hell. I mean I love weird movies so this was right up my alley, but I don't know if I've seen a movie this weird before. Especially the twist ending.

Hey!

4 people so far in response! Sounds like wherever we all were, we were watching - Baby - t the same time!

Yes, it started with "It's Alive", which was weird. I remember that title and re-release as a kid in 1977, the title had many kids so wound up most didn't make it to the theater!

But, .... Baby!!! Even more Wrong! Allbad! Especially after the Social Worker turns the tables and already has another Baby, her husband in diapers at her home! And I think she had a tripped out Mom?

The person who made first response, you saw this in 1973? At the movies? Wow ... I would love to hear your 3 dimensional stories of that year, my Uncle graduated high school in May, 1973 & said everyone was praying Nixon was gonna end the draft, Vietnam was still jumping off and had an Ominous undercurrent going on amongst draft eligible high school grads ...

The draft was called off end of June and he told me they were all ready to go, and I believe him but they still were relieved. In place of the draft, movies like - Baby - came out! What a seemingly good psychedelic high of the mythologized 60's summer of Love ... Ending up grim and disturbed by early 1970's!

Really does sometimes matter certain times when we come and go because as a 6 year old kid when - Baby - came out, all I was hearing was Karen Carpenter, The Jackson 5 & The Osmond's singing 'One bad apple, don't spoil the whole bunch girl ...' Whew! Close call!

And the comment the Momma of Baby? There where ladies like that in the 70's! They were cool with me as a kid but they were the kind of Women who would punch back and beat the you know what out of the occasional husband who got drunk and pushed his Wife around!

There are certain things from the 1970's meant not to be re-made. The love song 'Always & Forever' by Heatwave, leave it alone! The Bee Gees 'How deep is your love', don't touch it! Anything by Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Sabbath, ELO & EWF, most of the early Eagles mellow jams ...

Baby ain't just a movie, it is a snapshot that can take a film lover back in time. One can get there thru these films and then trip off of whatever, the crime dramas, the comedies, Romance, etc.

That must sound crazy but they nailed it modern to that moment, the social worker, her style of dress and she is fine! As in really pretty and cool.

The super strange sisters of Baby, again, cattle prodder?!!! WTF?!!! then his sister jumping into the crib?!!! It certainly is not politically correct

That ending scene tho', Baby has a playmate! After the 2 cool ladies finish off Momma and her daughters, one of them is in the shallow grave faking rigor mortis!

And battle of Ladies ends when she gags Momma! Then bury the whole lot. Next day go swimming?!! And the classic freeze frame ending picture of Baby, Husband Baby and Social worker laughing and happy?!!

That was a good ending ... And still it feels horrible to admit this! I am still shocked! But especially happy his film put a full on campy vibe on everyone and you all were nice to respond to my post!

Rock on everybody!
