What happened to the director? Peter Newbrook?
He was only 52 when he made this film...yet right after this film he
basically 'quit' the movie business (he lived until 2009)
If I'd made this movie, I'd have quit right after too.

He worked for Tales of the Unexpected until 10 years after this film and then I guess he could cash in his pension and retire.
sharePeter Newbrook had a long and distinguished career as a cinematographer, lighting director and cameraman.
He did not "quit the business" he went back to his first love.
There was a fad at about this time for cameramen to try out at directing, most successfully by the great Freddie Francis Peter obviously decided it was not for him.
