One of the best Amicus films. Question ...

I've always loved this story. I was a small child when I first saw it in the mid 80s - that hand terrified me!

...I have a question though. In the book with the family tree, there is a name scratched out. I couldn't see who else was on there to try to eliminate. It can't be Henry or any other male as they all had their portraits hanging up.

Does anyone know who this was and why they had been scratched out ?
