Terry's Wife, Jutta.
Terry's ex-wife, Jutta, never appears but is mentioned in the cast list for the episode, End of an Era. April Walker's performance was probably cut, then. Does anyone know?

shareYeah her scene was cut, no idea why as you say she is mentioned in the end credits.
shareIncidentally I watched a thing about Fawlty Towers last night, and April Walker is in an episode of this.
She is part of a couple who are unmarried and staying the night at the hotel together and Basil gets a bee in his bonnett about it.
Oh, I remember that episode of Fawlty Towers. So that's April, is it? Bonny lass, as Terry might say.Cut above. Tried unsuccessfully to contact her once, via her agent, to ask if she could remember her part in the Likely Lads as Jutta. Wonder if Ian La Frenais could help.
Thanks very much for your replies.
The Episode in question is called The Wedding Planner in the first season (1975), so made a couple of years after her (non) appearance on Whatever Happened...
shareIndeed - I noticed this last time I watched The Likely Lads. I wonder how her scene went?
shareIntriguing, isn't it? Wish it had been left in.
shareNever noticed that before, thanks for pointing that out.
shareI always noticed this. Presumably they contractually had to credit her even though the scene was cut.
Judging by the way the plot unfolds, I would imagine that terry bumps into her at the end as he's taking Bob and Thelma to the airport- she'd be coming in just as they were going out. However, maybe the writers decided that bringing Jutta into the plot would have altered the dynamic too much and meant the storyline had to go down a path they didn't want (although in my opinion they could have had her in for one episode and got away with it) so they chopped it.
"I'm sorry about the room"
"Oh, that's OK, we have lots of others."
Teecee is keen to know what the storyline was.
No Guru, No Method, No Teacher.
She said she was wearing a miniskirt-I expect she simply said "Hello Terry" or something and that was it.
shareJutta is the last acting credit so assume that, yes, she appeared at the end of the programme. This episode was the shortest in the series - the previous episode was 1 minute and 20 seconds longer. in these days of DVD extras, i wonder if the complete episode is available somewhere- unless James Bolam has blocked that happening too!
I don't buy many boxed sets but I do have The Professionals on DVD and the episodes are around 53 minutes long so I can see where tv cuts or edits scenes
