did nickelodeon do a re-make in the 90s?

i remember watching bits of a show called "the tomorrow people" on nickelodeon in the early 90s, and i recall the idea being that they were a bunch of teens who were telepathic and i kind of think they had british accents. i don't remember the clothes or hairstyles being very "old-looking" at the time so i don't think it was just a re-broadcast of the original series (which until finding this page i had no idea there was a series in the 70s!) can anyone else confirm this?

Actually, Nick didn't create the remake, they brought it to the network from the U.K.

Might this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103568 be what your thinking of?

if you saw the 1990's version of this show with out seeing the original then you missed out on a great series, I was 6 or seven when I saw the first episodes and to be honest when they did the remake I was over joyed til I saw it and how much worse it was then the lower budget originial. If you can get the original series you should it is great even if now very dated and campy compared to todays scfi-fi but the stories were well written and very staright forward so that a 6 year old or a 36 year old can both come away learning and saying WOW

Awesome, I am shocked to learn of the 70's version, I only knew of the 90's version which I quite enjoyed. I thought it was weird and unique at the time, I'll have to check out the original one of these days.

YES!! Nick ran a series called "tomorrow people" back in the 80's. I watched it all the time (and the show which was the originator of the green slime "you can't do that on television" -- oh please say "I don't know" !!! LOL). Even way back then, and being a "doctor who" fan, it was obvious to me that "tomorrow people" was a few years older and imported dirctly as-is from BBC. I had NO idea there was a re-make in the 90's, but from this forums comments, won't make a point of tracking it down.

What an interesting show this was!!!! Watched it in the early 80's also on Nickelodeon when the didn't have commercials and there was some quality programming on it!!!! Anyone else remember the series "The Third Eye" was a bunch of different shows about all kinds of things sci-fi and paranormal. Really loved both of these and where can you get the DVD"s of the original Tomorrow People and/or The Third Eye?

I am a fan mainly of the OS (Original Series) TP (Tomorrow People) but I have also watched the 90s NS (New Series). It didn't stop me from prefering the OS but although the NS is quite different (no TIM, no link really between the 2 sets of characters or story-lines) but I can still appreciate bits of the NS. I don't remember anything called The Third Eye, but you can get OS TP on DVD from play.co.uk (I don't know if you are in the UK like me) and probably other sites too. If your money stretches to it you can get the complete series now (the UK commentary on the dvds is hilarious - most of which I hear was not put onto the USA dvd version). If you want something continuing/new, big.finish.co.uk (I think) do audio CDs with the continuing stories of the TPs.

I watched this show religously in the 80s. Along with a show about two twins who learned to communicate telepathically and were chased by some wierd alien looking blob like people.
I also watched starblazers and still love the show to this day.

I remember the series "The Third Eye" from Nickelodeon. It was on right after or before the Tomorrow People. One episode I remember involved town people turning into stones sort of like the ones that form Stonehenge.

MJ, you just gave me an 80's flashback moment. Long ago, in a galaxy far far away, it was the 1980's and my mother bought cable tv when it was first offered to people in the early 80's (she made me choose between cable tv or a VCR. I chose cable tv). That way I remember seeing the tomorrorw people and The Third eye. my memories are in bits and peices right now concerning the early 80's but I do remember the tomorrow people and the secret government trying to track them down and capture them. A few blakes 7 regulars appeared on that show ( I have blakes 7 on video).

It wasn't from the BBC. Thames Television made this and it was broadcast on the ITV channel.

It was also air'ed on the Sci Fi channel (u.k.) in 1998 from 9.00 pm til 10.00 pm and was the last program in the old days shown when the channel closed down for ordinary viewers but continued for subscribers.
Thats where I got my episodes from, I will now have to get it on dvd now i know its available
