Anyone likes M'ress?

She's that cute feline Caitlain chick who worked with the crew in this show.

I had a crush on her 26 years ago when i was 4 when i watched this on Nick, it was her with Cleo from Heathcliff and Cheetara from Thundercats that began my fascination for catgirls.

I liked M'ress, although I have to admit that I crack up every time I hear that "purr" sound she made with every utterance.

Who else thought she was quite cute for an alien catgirl?

Catgirls are sexy creatures and appealing too just like mermaids and elf girls.

Even in cartoons over the years, catgirls have charmed guys. There's been plenty of catgirl cuties in animation over the years such as M'ress, Kit Mambo from Animalympics, Cheetara from Thundercats, Jenny from Bucky O'Hare, Cheetah on Justice League, Cleo from Heathcliff, Felicia from Darkstalkers, Puma Twins from Dominion Tank Police, Callie with Felina and Ann Gora on Swat kats, April O'Neil on that Ninja Turtles episode and even Catwoman from that Batman The Animated Series episode where she becomes an actual catwoman.

I've always liked her. P.S. If you do a Google search for "The Sah'aaran Embassy," you'll find a website with a collection of very well written fanfic by Paul S. Gibbs (who sadly passed back in 2002) - some of the novels used to be set in the Star Trek universe, and the character who's now named Ehm-Ayla used to be M'Ress.

I always found the way she had to purr before she spoke extremely annoying.

It would be downright dangerous if she had urgent news to report.

"MMMMMMRRRRRRROOOOOWWWWW.... the Klingons are firing..."
Cue large explosion

You might want to check out Peter David's New Frontiers series--she and Arex show up (both the victims of time travel accidents) and are assigned to Elizabeth Shelby's ship.

reply

NO no no and no. That is the one character that I think is ridiculous and too obviously "cutesy" for Star Trek. Not creative at all. But that is just my personal opinion of course.

reply

She's creepy and the purring is extremely off putting.

reply

Yes, she is creepy. I think her wonky eyes are more off-putting than her purring, though.

If this is a consular ship, where is the ambassador?

Wasn't there a live action Caitian in the bar scene in Star Trek V?

"We need a new alien character to replace Uhura as the communications officer in some episodes!"
"Of course. The best possible choice would be someone who has a speech defect and no thumbs."
