Jane Hylton (Betty's mother)

It's a real shame we didn't see enough of Jane Hylton as Betty's mother throughout the series. If I remember correctly she was only in Series 1?? Might be wrong though... ...anyway, I know that whenever she comes on screen she has me in stitches with her one-liners... there isn't really a 'funny' character in the series apart from Frank himself... however, excluding Frank, she has to be the funniest other character in the series. It's her facial expressions too.

Two classics....
'Interviews! He doesn't go for jobs, he just goes for interviews!'
'He never knows what he's doing! And when he's done it he doesn't know why he's done it, and nobody else knows why he's done it! But he still goes on doing it.'

That 2nd line never fails to raise a laugh from me. She kinda says things the people who are watching at home would say! :D Hilarious and underrated character.
