richard wilson

theres one episode where richard wilson guest stars - i didnt see the full episode just caught the end. but there was a scene were richard wilson entered the house and sat on the sofa and fell through it slowly. The camera had to quickly go to michael crawford as richard had started laughing then went to michele (betty) as michael started giggling then betty had a few lines to say and then she started laughing aswell. i dont know how in the world they all keep straight faces on that tv show - lol

I've seen that episode and I actually came on here to see if there was any mention of that scene. I just remember Richard Wilson's face in that scene. He was barely able to keep himself from laughing. It's a very funny scene.

Oh this is one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life. 8=)) One of my favourite TV moments of all time. It is so genuine and I defy anyone not to laugh when they see it!!!

What annoys me hugely is that this would never happen today. Actors would still laugh in a scene of course, but the modern-day TV directors would cut the scene and re-shoot it - they don't understand that we audiences occasionally like to see things like this, not just as part of an out-takes show, but as part of the programme itself.

If anyone hasn't seen this, please make sure you watch it next time it is on TV. I wish it was on YouTube - it doesnt seem to be (though many other 'Some Mothers' scenes are).

Just in case you guys don't know and were wondering, the episode is called "Wendy House", is in Series 3 and Richard Wilson plays an insurance company representative. But yes, it's very funny when he starts laughing.

The whole episode is on Youtube now. The Wendy House.

Just watched it on BBC4. If Victor Meldrew had met Frank Spencer..

yes great scene, I also like the scene just after that as they go into the kitchen and Frank yells "Down"! (to the dog)Richard Wilson ducks assuming the roof is about to come down on his head. I still laugh even though I know its going to happen

I'm so pleased this scene has its own forum on here. 8=)

Why do we love it so much? Apart from the fact it is just so purely funny, I think it shows that the SMDAE set was very relaxed and happy. In this beautiful moment we see what a great time they were all having making it.
