This show is being rerun on Australian TV. I haven't seen it in many years; I always liked it and appreciated Michael Crawford's physical comedy. But rewatching it now, I find Michele Dotrice to be absolutely brilliant as his "straight man". I can't imagine the show working without her.

She was terrific as poor Betty. I'm watching a repeat of Some Mothers right now. still laugh crazy like at it. My twelve year old son finds it stupid and not funny at all. Crazy.
Agreed. It must have been a very difficult part to play but she really made something of it.
