The Inspiration for Sigmund's voice!

He's been imitated from Stan Freberg's Pete Puma in "Rabbit's Kin" with Bugs (1952; followed by some 1990s WB TV/theatricals), Daws Butler in Hanna-Barbera's Pixie and Dixie as Jinks, the parent series Huck Hound as Crazy Leroy the wacky lion ("Lion hearted Huck", Season 1,1958 and"Lion's Busy
" Season two", 1959-60, broadcast in 1960), Sylvester's fellow puddytat, the crazy Sam, and various for Jay Ward's Fractured Fairy Tales, UPA's "Magoo's" newphew Waldo"", and Walter Lantz again by Butler (except Pete Puma the others are all Butler's so far), then by Dallas McKennon also in a few Lantz (as a bulldog),also in Clokey's :Gumby" by Dal McKennon as another monster ("Witty Witch") and a prince ("Pigeon in a Plum tree").
Leo DeLyon (along with Freberg the closest to being an actual; imitaiton) as Hanna-Barbera's misnamed "Brain
" in Top Cat", and other shows, Dayton Allen as Terrytoon's "Deputy Dawg"finally on Krofft shows "Bugaloos" (as "Sparky Firefly"), "Lidsville'(the only remotely villianous character in this case, "Raunchy Rabbit" who was Charles Nelson "Hoodoo" Reilly's henchbunny), and this show, "Sigmund" as the title monster,by the one and only Walker Edmiston,

He started in radio in the 1940s doing that same voice on Jack Benny, then twenty years later on TV's Jackie Gleason (in his post-'Honeymooners")_ show as Crazy Guggenheim.

He's none other than Frank Fontaine, 1920-1978, who I'm the only one to see a connection with Sigmund. Anyone know if that was intentional (it HAD to be given all of the other imitations, applicable to the other Edmiston voiced Krofft characters like this,in Bugaloos and Lidsville, andf with Fontaine's big popularity) or coincidental? Either way, it';s an endearing and memorable voice! Slapsie Maxie Rosenbloom may also be an influence.Love Sigmund! 😎
