There was a season 2?

Yes, there was most certainly a second season... with Rip Taylor in fish drag!

The complete series was released on VHS in a big boxed set around 2000... just as VHS was dying out. Unfortunately, those sets are now selling for ridiculous prices used. Rhino didn't get around to releasing the show on DVD until a few years later. Season 2 (as well as releases of "Dr. Shrinker" and "Electra Woman and Dyna Girl") were planned, but it's my understanding that the people at Rhino who were involved in the Krofft releases jumped ship and moved to Shout Factory. As such, season 1 of "Sigmund," which is now out of print, was the last Rhino Krofft DVD release and there's no plans for them to release season 2. All hope may not be lost though...

Universal re-released the complete series of "Land of the Lost" (previously issued by Rhino) on DVD as well as the "Pufnstuf" movie (which had never had a DVD release) when the "Land of the Lost" movie hit theatres. Assuming the upcoming "Sigmund" movie doesn't fall through, I'd expect Universal will probably follow suit and release the complete series of "Sigmund." We may have to wait another year and a half for that to happen, and they won't have the cool special features the Rhino releases had, but at least there's some hope of getting season 2 on DVD...
