Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids

I always thought of "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" whenever "Verb" came on. Probably because

1. They were both on Saturday Morning, although I don't remember what network Fat Albert was on.

2. The similarities in the setting - Afro-American kid is the main star, and takes place in the inner city.

3. Sometimes even the music sounds like it belongs on Fat Albert.

Anyone else ever make this association?

If I recall correctly, FAT ALBERT was on CBS, and SHR was on ABC. CBS had IN THE NEWS between the cartoons on Saturdays. IN THE NEWS were little snippets of the weeks major news stories or other topical info, but geared towards kids. It was interesting, but not as fun to watch as SHR.

You're probably mixing them up because:

4. The Fat Albert gang watched a show called The Brown Hornet, which featured a black superhero who was reminiscent of the Verb superhero from SHR.
