Get Out The Vote for Police Story

Sony Pictures is currently polling for TV shows to put on DVD and Police Story is on the list. Go to sonypictures.com/homevideo/tvondvd and scroll down to the voting link, and vote often.

reply

Any idea where the voting stands now? Sony's site will only let you vote once, and doesn't show the current standings. It would be a tragedy for the Emmy winning POLICE STORY to lose out to some "one-season-wonders".

reply

I vote every time I open up IE to go online, I don't know why your having a problem. I do have a window washer program that filters and deletes cookies when I close my browser. Perhaps if you delete your cookies manually you can vote more. The results are only shown after you submit your vote as far as I can tell. Currently Police Story has fallen to last place in a seven show list. Two of the shows ahead of Police Story are The Rookies, and What's Happening Now, which were successful shows in their own right. However, the top 3 vote getting shows are Bette, The $treet, and Cupid, by a large margin. I have never heard of any of these shows so I checked them on IMDB, none of these shows lasted one full season on TV. Why they are being listed against a show like Police Story is beyond me. Why they are getting more votes than Police Story is just depressing. I must be getting old.

Oh well. At least we could hope. I never heard of those top three either. At least the Rookies had Kate Jackson in it.

reply

I just voted. But, sadly, it does not look good for Police Story:

The $treet 13.49%
Bette! 29.55%
Michael Hayes 8.33%
What's Happening Now! 5.11%
The Rookies 5.12%
Police Story 4.97%
Cupid 33.4%

Too bad. It was a classy show. And just about every cop I ever heard talk about it said it was by far the most realistic cop show, at least up 'til that time.

Oh, how I wish I could believe or understand that!

reply

I vote every time I go on line also. I originally was voting for The Rookies and The $treet also and the percentages never changed. I finally figured out that if I voted for the two top ones (Bette and Cupid) as my second and third choices; the percentage for Police Story came up. It is now above 5%, but still in last place. I went on one police website and advised them to vote but I don't know if it helps or not.

I just learned of this site today, where we can vote for Police Story to be released on DVD, and I registered today, and put in my vote. I love this series. I do hope I can vote each time I log on. I also voted for Joe Forrester and the Blue Knight. I want them released to DVD also, but my favorite choice is Police Story. That will be a collectors item for sure!!

reply

Keep voting, everyone! So far, a little more than 5% have voted to release Police Story on DVD. Your vote can make all the difference!

reply

I vote several times per day. We are up to 5.25% now, up from 4.94% a few weeks ago. Keep voting!

reply

It would seem that we have a better chance than we believed. I just found that DVD Empire is offering "The Rookies, Season 1" from Sony Home Entertainment in July, and "Whats Happining Now" was released to DVD on June 12. Those are the two losers to "Police Story", so perhaps there is hope after all. Hopeful.

reply

A bit over 5% (still). I barely remember this show, but saw it in re-runs, and remember it has a good reputation. I've enjoyed the books, so the show is probably worth watching. I voted for it on the website.

reply

Although I remember this as a series I like I voted for it mostly because I want the James Darren episode.

reply

I have to wonder what goes on in the board rooms in Hollywood. Garbage like "Sicko" makes it to DVD, but not quality programs like "Police Story".

reply

A lot has changed in the voting, as the poll today shows "Police Story" as the winner, ahead of every other title, with: 32.77%

_____
The New Number 2: "Are you going to run?"
Number 6: "Like blazes. First chance I get."

Pls send me the updated link to vote!
