Why Don't They Revive This Excellent Series?

Man About The House was one of my fave TV series back in the 1970's, along with On The Buses, George and Mildred, Steptoe etc. I have all the series so far on DVD and cannot wait for the next series to be released.

I would love to see a Man About The House revival show. It could show the original cast members 30 years on. It would be great to see Richard, Sally and Paula back together again for one last spin-off.

What do other MATH fans think?

I loved George and Mildred too, I'm enjoying re-watching it on Paramount. Yootha Joyce and Brian Murphy worked brilliantly together. Not a fan of On The Buses though.

I don't think a MATH revival could work without Yootha somehow, Doug Fisher (Larry) has also passed away and Richard still has health problems so I doubt it would ever happen. If they were all alive and well I would have loved to have seen a one-off special or something though definitely. I'm surprised that it's never been remade with a new cast, but I'm glad really as I couldn't imagine any other actors playing those roles. The other catch is that Robin ended up with Vicky in Robin's Nest and was about to have his third child with her and Chrissy ended up with Robin's brother Norman, so it probably wouldn't work anyway. The George and Mildred and Robin's Nest spin-offs ended any hopes of a MATH revival really.

Yeah, you're right. It just wouldn't be the same, would it?

Could never understand why nobody from this series ever dined at Robin's Nest.

A remake would never work because the situation is nothing out of the ordinary any more.

Watching reruns on TV at the moment. Best sit-com cast ever.

in some ways it was remade, Game On was a similar premise, akthough unlike MATH which had subtlety and charactors you could actually like, and more importantly was funny, Game On was arguably more realistic, but was unsubtle , charactors that were dislikable and was about as funny as living in Stevenage.
