I'm officially in love ...

... with this show. But I came across it completely by accident. I live in Canada and one day I was rummaging through the bin of DVD's at Dollarama (our everything-for-a-dollar-store) and came across this interesting-looking show. When I turned it over to read the back, I discovered it was the series that inspired the American show Three's Company, and that it actually took place several years earlier ... in London! So I decided to pick it up. (it was only a buck for the complete first and second series!)

I own several of my favorite TV shows on DVD, but this is now the jewel of my collection! The characters are likeable and charming, the production is much better than I had imagined, what with it being shot in 1973 and all and the British humor is absolutely knee-slapping fun!

The only thing is ... I'm now dying to see the rest of the show, and the movie ... plus the spin-off's Robin's Nest and George & Mildred! It's a bit more difficult though since I live in Canada and the only DVD's I can find these shows on are region 2. (the complete 1st and 2nd series were released by Fremantle Media on Region 1 DVD in the same boxed set, the one I own but not the rest of the show. I've since contacted Fremantle Media and they say there are no plans to release the rest of the show on Region 1 DVD.)

But I've found a loophole ... I just purchased myself all the Region 2 DVD's of the shows, a British DVD player and a voltage converter! What a package of happy that'll be when it arrives!

Cheerio!

"Hey ... I like that black sh*t!"

Congrats on finding the show, Its one of the best ever. Ive just finished watching the first 2 seasons again. Ive found I still love the show as much (if not more) than I did when I was a kid.
Now I'm longing to see the rest of the show also.
