All criminals wear suits and ties?

In the Kojak universe it seems all the worst criminals are men impeccably dressed. Didn't know so many criminals are so high class.

For who would bear the whips and scorns of Hollywood... (;-p)

It's funny that you say that..... I was thinking about how tailored Kojak's suits are. He dressed very well for a cop. The rest of the cops don't seem as well dressed.
Edit:Kojak had style, but I'd trust Columbo much more....

It's going to be a bumpy night!"

Kojak's wardrobe was supplied by Botany 500. If you watched TV in the 70's you would be very familiar with Botany 500, which outfitted game show hosts and stylish male TV characters all across the dial. Stavros' wardrobe, on the other hand, was supplied by Goodwill.

I noticed that watching Highway Patrol.

For that matter, focus on the criminals on Andy Griffith and up to Gomer Pyle.

As well as they are nearly ALWAYS white, right up to today.

I still remember A Different World 'dealt with' the LA riots after the Rodney King verdict, and who did they get to portray rioters? Whitey white Roseanne and Tom Arnold, because casting even black comedians to portray doofus rioters would be racist.

Lol. Yes, especially after the success of "The Godfather" (1972) syndicate crime was fashionable on TV. Street crime didn't get 'hot' again til the early 80's, but the 70's was all about organized crime.
