The ending of this episode (which I just watched yesterday) is ambiguous. Braddock does not take the gun away from his wife.

42:45 - Braddock returns home, puts his gun in the drawer.

43:45 - Molly comes home with a new dog. Braddock wants to know where the car keys are.

44:42 - Braddock realizes Molly bombed the restaurant.

45:12 - Braddock says to Molly "Why don't you kill me?" She replies, "I only have you." Braddock says "I killed an innocent man [Ogilvy, the musician]."

46:11 - Braddock says "It's over," and goes into the bathroom.

46:41 - Molly takes the gun out of the drawer and looks at it.

47:10 - Kojak arrives, he takes the gun away from Molly, which is in her hand under the dog she is holding.

47:53 - Kojak notices that water is running under the bathroom doot.

49:06 - Kojak calls the office, says he wants to report a homicide -- Braddock.

Water running under the door and the reaction of Kojak and Crocker would suggest that Braddock is dead, but typically this would mean he is in the bathtub and the water is running over the edge, like he has slit his wrists or something (or he has been shot -- but would he have been taking a bath or a shower?). There is no doubt a gap between the time Molly takes the gun out of the drawer and the time Kojak shows up. He doesn't hear the gun go off as he is arriving, for example. But "homicide" could refer to either Molly shooting her husband or the murder of Ogilvy. I think it is more likely the former.

By the way, there is something cut out of the dialog when Braddock is fighting with Ogilvy, the pianist who is his mistress's former "daytime" boyfriend who she didn't want to see any more. This happens behind the bar where Ogilvy is having a toke outside. Braddock says "You called..." and then there is a brief silence in the dialog, even though his lips are moving.
