The subway?

What's the closest they've ever gotten to it? Do they even show those street level entrance things? Of all the Kojak I've watched, I guess I wasn't paying much attention to that.

I don't remember them ever going into the subway. At the beginning, when they actually filmed in NYC, the logistics would have been tough. And the subways were pretty grungy back then. In later season's when they filmed in LA, they would have had to build a set.

What I want to know is how did Kojak always get a parking space in front of whatever building he was visiting? In New York?!

A subway entrance is seen at the end of S01E02, Web of Death, but Hector Elizondo's character, who has been shot, is too weak to go down what looks like a very narrow stairway.

By the way, not is Kojak's ability to find a parking space amazing, but so is his ability to roar up to a crime scene at 50 miles an hour and stop on a dime without hitting anyone.

Another subway entrance (a real one, I think) is seen in S03E14 at the beginning of the show.

In this episode, a suspect's yellow sheet is seen which contains some bad words which managed to escape the censor!
