Should've been a GILLIGAN'S ISLAND Prequel

Have yet to watch every episode, but have been checking the show out. I heard it was a knock off of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, but I do enjoy it as a tribute to Gilligan's brand of humor. Course some characters are played so similar I sometimes forgot I wasn't watching Alan Hale or Tina Louise.

Bob Denver's Dusty is just Gilligan in different clothes. It's a shame when the Gilligan TV movies were made they didn't connect that show with this one. I would have found it fun if the Professor created a time machine, and some how the wagon train gang of Dusty's Trail was teleported to the island. Dusty could easily pass for Gilligan's ancestor.

"Bob Denver's Dusty is just Gilligan in different clothes."... and his Gilligan was just Maynard G. Krebs without the beard... same stupid character... too bad he was never allowed to flex out into something more than just a dimwit.

I know Bob has done other roles, even serious ones. But come to think of it I do know if I've ever seen him outside the Gilligan/Dusty persona.
