Who owns the rights?

I reached out to AntennaTV and Metv asking if they could start airing Barnaby Jones and I got a response only from AntennaTV. They said they don't own the rights to the show but they would add it to the wishlist.

Does anyone know who does own the rights to the show?

The series was originally owned by Quinn Martin Productions. It is now called QM Communications.

The most recent information I could find indicates that they are located at Warner Brothers Studios.

Quinn Martin himself died in 1987; I haven't seen anything regarding who took over for him.

Thank you. I wonder why they won't sell the rights to someone so they can replay them on a retro channel. It would make my day to have this replay some place.

Or better yet, dvd's or netflix so you have the episodes unedited. I believe that's on the way as somebody on this board mentioned. I believe it was Dana from this very thread.

From reading Wikipedia, it appears that QM Productions folded in the late 1970s, and ownership of its properties exchanged hands 3 or 4 more times after that.

it ended up in Viacom's hands in the 1990s, and ultimately now looks like it is the property of CBS Corporation.

Decades which I believe is indeed owned by CBS Viacom is airing BJ even as we speak as part of the Cop Show Binge. The 2 part pilot is on right now with Barnaby investigating his son's murder with FrankCannons help.

I have literally been waiting Decades (No Pun) for this show to air again. I am watching it On DECADES too... I am praying that it shows up again or at least Decades does a Weekend Binge of Barnaby Jones...
Quincy M.E. and BJ were two of my favorites when I was young. Quincy doesn't hold up too well, but I remembered even back when it was new that the 'message' shows were a disaster. Barnaby Jones wasn't too much about Social Issues, IIRC. I adore Buddy Ebsen. A real Class Act.

I'm also watching it on Decades. The complete series is available on Amazon for $90 which isn't a bad deal. Great seeing this again after a very long time.
