This cartoon could have been really good but wasn't. Why? I'll give you the two main reasons why.

1. Lennie Weinrib completely butchered the part of Gomez. Shame on them for even suggesting him for the role.

2. Hanna Barbara was good for cooky 60s and 70s cartoons. The only cartoon they did real justice on was Scooby Doo. Because it wasn't too cooky. It has some spookiness to it. But what amazes me is how the kick off for this cartoon began on Scooby Doo. But when the actual series for this began, it became completely stupid and unlike the Addams Family. It was like putting a bunch of retards in Addams Family costumes and turning them loose on the world. Stupid is the word here. This cartoon deserves a negative rating.

PS. No John Astin, no show.

Gotta agree. I mean, for whatever reason if they couldn't get Astin, could they at least try to get someone who sounded a little bit like him? I mean Morticia wasn't perfect, but at least she wasn't some nasally annoying character that was nothing like the TV show version.
