Actress Li Ching...

I am officially a Li Ching fanboy(or twenty-something fan, to be P.C.)! Ever since I saw that lovely, charismatic butterball in 'Hong Kong Rhapsody'(1966), I 've been a Li Ching(alias Li Guo Ying and "Baby Queen")fan. She's "one hell of a cutie-pie", paraphrasing a reviewer at CityonFire.com. I love the way she combines sensuality with innocence and warmth; Li Ching's acting abilities are also solid. She was born in 1948 in Shanghai and raised in Hong Kong. In 'New One Armed Swordsman'(1971), she portrays the love interest of Lei Li(David Chiang Ta Wei). As with most Chang Cheh films, he downgrades Li Ching's role in favor of "maciste", manly chivalry. However, there's a good scene where Li Ching's character is willing to let a bunch of men accost her if they stop beating up Lei Li(Lei Li comes to her aid earlier in the scene). Is she still alive? Does anyone know why her acting career declined in the 1980's? If anyone has any input to share, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I think she went on a downward spiral due to gambling and destructive relationships with at least one other star.

Thanks, partner. I cry when angels deserve to die, die, die....dddddie! Hey!

Still, Li Ching is looks sweeter than a jelly donut!

The Shaw Brothers studio must've had their own Edith Heads. Li Ching's costumes in NOASM are so colorful.
