In the vein of the characters having low emotional IQs and integrity, I think he was going to say:

"You know girls why do you two keep the home fire burning while I go and shag my secretary again, and I'll be back in a couple of hours to stoke your kindle with a log then we can go out for a spot of tea." Plausible. Good movie.
