This Movie is under rated

I just posted on "who's afraid of Virginia woolf?" and I can't help it, but this is a much better movie. There is subtext and there is real emotion, volatility. Susannah York and Michael Caine are excellent. But it is Elizabeth Taylor who absolutely forms this movie. It's so weird because she wasn't ordinarily a very good actress, but in this one she knocks it out of the park. I feel that it is because of Edna O'Brien ' s screenplay, which is quirky and rich and honest and real and, sometimes, very , very funny. So much better than Edward Albee's words in WAOVW?

I could watch Liz all day in this. She is hypnotic. Again, Pauline Kael said that Liz' performance was not like acting and I agree
It was like the real deal. Absolutely fascinating.

I agree, definitely one of Caine's best lesser known movies.
