Ken Hutchison injury

I've read that Ken Hutchison (Emmet Keogh) severely cut his arm while in his hotel room during filming and his life was saved by Robert Mitchum's wife, Dorothy. The injury caused him to miss several weeks of filming and the filmmakers wondered if they should replace Hutchison.

So here's my question. Does anyone know at what point during the filming of the movie, off-set, Hutchison sustained the injury? He has a semi-nude scene at about the hour mark and the injured arm looks all right to me. Any ideas when he cut his arm so severely? Gracias.

And how about an official MGM release of this western?

As it happens, I know Ken quite well. I work in a pub where he drinks regularly. I'll have to ask him about his arm, but I wonder if you can help me. Ken has only one copy of the wrath of god, and it belongs to his agent, but that version is recorded off of a television broadcast, in other words, not very good. I'm trying to get hold of a copy, either on dvd or vhs, can you help? RSVP.

Jaris - tell Mr. Hutchinson that he was great in Straw Dogs. What a shame that he hasn't gotten more work stateside (or maybe he prefers British television work). I heard he got a reputation as being difficult on sets (?) Too bad, great actor.

I was just going to try and locate a copy of Wrath of God, but if Ken doesn't have a copy, sounds like a tough find.

If you are looking for a copy of Wrath of God you should try "half.com" I think I found my copy there, and pretty cheap. I was Ken's stunt double on this show but I am not sure when Ken got injured...It was quite a few years ago. I know the filming was shut down for a few weeks and we all went home for the Xmas holidays.... it was a very bad cut.
Hope this helps...

Mr Walker, I haven't done a web search for the film, but I just checked Maltin's Movie Guide & it shows as not being on tape or DVD.

A couple of questions about my gorgeous fave actor :

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of how Ken injured his arm ?
What's he up to these days ?

Kens biggest female fan.

I still haven't gotten an answer, littledorritt. Seems we're in the same boat. I'm just curious cause at no point in the movie do I notice anything bothering Hutchison. If anything, his role gets more physical as the movie goes along including his knock-down fight with Jurado in the cantina and his role in the final shootout at the hacienda.

Anyone have an answer?

He's nothing but a wasted drunken fart and spends his days trying to stand up.
