Theory...Loony Toons Allegory

Allright this is a theory only. I think everything in this movie is in some way connected to Loony Toons. Barbara Streisand would obviously be the parallel of Bugs Bunny. Kenneth Mars would be Daffy Duck because of the whole "Despicable" thing. I haven't quite figured out the others, but I'm working on it.

hmmm. I don't really know. There are quite a few to choose from, but another easoning behind it is the subtle showing of a Loony Toon at the end and "That's all Folks"!

Howard Bannister could be either Porky Pig or Elmer Fudd, because both repeatedly played "straight man" in the old Looney Tunes. More likely Fudd, especially because of the clip of Bugs and Fudd they used at the end of the movie. Also, Porky usually played the straight man with Daffy, not Bugs.

I thought of that too, there is actually a scene where she's eating carrots.

*lol* Judy is DEFINATELY Bugs Bunny. She's always popping up unexpectedly at the wierdest moments, causing chaos, eating carrots, saying the famous line "what's up doc?"...that pretty much sums it up. :) I thought it was very cute. I think Howard is Elmer Fudd, anyone agree?

Judy as Bugs, obviously. Larraby would be Tweety, got the same deceptive innocence about him. Hugh (not me) is Daffy. The hotel manager is Sylvester, without the lisp. Judge Maxwell is a toned down Yosemite Sam. Howard might have been Porky, but I think that role is better suited to Eunice. (there's a person named Eunice?) Howard is Elmer Fudd.

Funny thread.

Well, the reason I thought of it in the first place was because of the name. (duh), but the whole movie plays out like a Loony Toon! Carefully setting you up and then exploding with "Loonyness"! And the whole Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd thing at the end gave it dead away.

Like the Looney Toons show: I think that explains why the title was adopted. And, yeah, Judy seemed as though she was modeled after Bugs Bunny, popping out of nowhere during right and wrong times apart from saying, "What's up, Doc?" once or a couple of times in the film.

So why did they parallel the film on the cartoons? Just because it's a Warner Bros. film? Is there any specific reasoning to this?

Just wondering! Thanks!

BTW, wouldn't Howard be more Porky Pig, because doesn't he get confused and stuff all the time?
