I must say...

Simply brilliant.

I don't usually ever posts on these boards, i'd rather read, but there's something about Bergman films. They're simple, yet profound and deep. This director indeed gets human emotion and thought and puts them before us without visual or contextual interruption. While watching his films, i WANT to GET what is being said and won't move for how ever it takes to get to the end. I dont want it to end because of the mood these films always leave you in, allowing you to question your own emotions, experiences, and feelings. And that's what I do throughout and even after and it's so rare for films to do it so well as Bergman's. Like "this is what people go through dealing with death", and we end up asking ourselves "How do i feel about life"? Amazing.

I just wanted to say that and see if I'm the only one.

He gets me thinking about more about life than any other director. Just watched it tonight. I agree with everything you wrote. Have you seen 'Winter Light'? That is my favourite of his with regards to making me ponder, 'How do I feel about life'?

Yes. His movies are so moving and create an emotional response unlike those of any other filmmaker, excepting perhaps Ozu.
