I watched Lars Von Trier's "Antichrist" tuesday, then watched "Cries & Whispers" yesturday. Obviously not knowing that the self inflicted pain occured in both films, what are the odds of watching two movies with genital mutilation in a row?

OK so I am not the only person who connected them. I saw Antichrist sometime last year and saw CW tonight. The first thing I thought of during that scene was whether or not VonTrier got the idea for that horrific scene from Bergmen. I have to say this one was less graphic though (thank heaven).

Cries & Whispers is the kinda film Von Trier dreams he could make - morbidly excruciating, truly emotionally troublesome. And I guess he could if he wasn`t such an immature shock-jock of a manchild.
