Censored scene

I'm sure there is a cut (censored maybe ?) in one scene in the Carlton DVD release of ToE. It's the scene near the begining where Mr Cushing's character arrives at the woodsman's cottage and drags off his bride as a suspected witch. I seem to remember seeing this on TV years ago and you saw the woodsman being forced to place his hand on a tree stump and it was then amputated. This sequence appears to have been cut in this version. I'm not sure what the objection would be as it wasn't particularly gory. Does anyone else recall this missing sequence or is it merely in my imagination? Also, if it did exist, does anyone know if it has been restored in the new DVD release?

This sounds like a scene from the flashback sequence in 'And Now the Screaming Starts' (1973). While 'Twins of Evil' suffered cuts, I don't think the woodsman suffered worse than a blow to the head.

Yes, that scene you are thinking about is absolutely from AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS.

You are confusing Twins of Evil with And Now The Screaming Starts (that is the film in which the woodsman gets his hand chopped off on a stump by the evil nobleman played by Herbert Lom).
