Neither of them seem to realize that whoever just killed the maid COULD STILL BE LOOSE IN THE HOUSE.
Irina didn't care at all because she knew who the killer was, it was her lover at killing the maid. It was planned by her to draw attention on his husband, putting him in the police spotlight. Her lover was just a puppet. As for Oliviero, he was just too drunk to know what had happened. He wasn't conscious about anything. At one point, I think he might have though he was the one who killed the maid and that's the reason for him to remain quiet.
