Aunt Augusta, one very irritating character
That voice, those speech patterns, the godawful clothing. Was that Maggie Smith or was it a man doing a bad drag queen version of Carol Burnette?

I love Maggie Smith, but I also think I have to agree with you.
If one had to criticise Maggie Smith, you'd have to see say she's Kenneth Williams at his worst.
Watching it for the first and have to admit she sounds more like Elanore Roosevelt than a British woman of the world. Annoying voice when portraying auntie really too OTT. The rest of this episodic movie is okay and that is about it.
shareI thought I would love this film for three reasons:
Maggie Smith
George Cukor
Graham Greene,
but I couldn't make it any further than 30 min before I bailed.
Very irritating indeed!
