Comedy gold!
Saw this on tv as a kid and stumbled across it again recently.
No way would something like this be made now.

I'm not so sure it was actually made as a comedy; but that's how the best of the so-bad-it's-good films get made.
What gets me is all the reviewers who didn't "get it" and publicly embarassed themselves by admitting it.
