Would love to get my hands on a copy of this movie!!

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a copy of the movie "That Certain Summer" with Hal Holbrook and Martin Sheen? Either a home-taped VHS or any other version?

I have been looking for over 2 years and can't find it anywhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I, too, am anxious to find a copy of this wonderful movie! I know that years ago I taped it when it was re-broadcast, but I cannot find it.

I just looked for it on Netflix, and it was not available. I would like to see this movie too. Hopefully, Strand or TLA could find a way to distribute it.

I too have been waiting and waiting for this movie to come out on video or dvd. I've been looking for it on E-bay with no luck. Hopefully they will make one. I saw this movie when I was 12 and never forgot it. Although I don't remember much of it now (only the plot) I do remember it struck a cord with me due to the acting. I remember Martin, Hal, Scott and Hope doing a great job. I couldn't believe they were doing a show on homosexualality on TV, in a good light. It was great and touching!

Me too. For crying out loud, this was 1971! ABC ought to show this one again!

It's going to air on The Logo Network in Nov. 05. Just FYI. Check the listings.

I caught it the other day on Logo, when it was repeated. It was as great as I remembered. The Logo website says it'll be on again, on Sat., Nov. 26th. I can't wait to see it again.

There is no release scheduled!!! We tried to get this film for our GLBT Film Festival in Denver and were told by more than one source that there is only ONE copy of this extant, and it's in the TV Museum in NYC. Not even the producers (Levinson and Link) have a copy.

Even though this thread is a bit old, here is something of interest to fans of this movie.

Bravo's OutzoneTv has "That Certain Summer" available for viewing for those with high speed internet connections. Commercial free, and quiet good quality, you can see the movie in its entirety on your computer.

Outzone no longer exists as a website. Just in case you were thinking about looking for the film at the above link.

I can't remember seeing it since 1972, but it holds up really, really well.

This film is also up on Youtube - in parts.

Available on www.RareDVDWorldwide.com

Great, fast service to Canada too! I've used them and www.VideoScreams.com to find Grey Market DVD-Rs that will never be aired again since they first were in the 60s,70s, & 80s.

Do your homework! A quick Google search would have answered your own questions. Dig a little!

I am looking for it too. Really ABC needs to release all of their 1970's classic Movies of the Week on DVD.

www.modcinema.com also sells DVD copies. Great selection of rare flicks from the 60s and 70s, as well as rare TV movies. I just purchased my copy from there.

How is the visual quality of that copy from modcinema?
