Additional footage / the longer cut SPOILER ALERT

It's been stated here before, but I thought I'd confirm that I just got ahold of a VHS copy of "Terror On The Menu" and it does contain two scenes not present in the other home video presentations of this film. They are the two scenes that have been mentioned before as missing: At breakfast after Regina's first night, Evelyn convinces Regina and Edwina to weigh themselves. Then there is a scene before Regina's "final dinner" where Evelyn and Henry are in the kitchen with Baby John. Evelyn stirs a "soup pot" that has a free-floating human foot in it, and she gives Henry this large jar that contains severed fingers. Henry acts like she just gave him the most precious thing in the world, and he starts to eat one. The rest of the film appears to be no different; I clocked this version at approximately 76 minutes. My VHS copy is Canadian and plays on US machines; I had previously thought that only PAL versions of this cassette existed for European markets, but now I know that's not true. This particular video box features stills on the back that are not from the movie at all, but interestingly, one of the still does seem to feature Linda Gillin, although it's so small it's hard to tell.

I was a little disappointed to find out that there wasn't anything noticeably new other than those two scenes; I was hoping for a little more gore, like when Regina discovers the heads in the freezer.

I would love for even more footage to appear, but I suspect that this version with the weighing scene and the fingers scenes are the only additional scenes that exist. The 90 minute runtime seems a little too generous. It would mean that at least 14 more minutes of footage exist, and that seems way too much for this film, as it would have to be a pretty serious subplot that was cut from the movie. If anybody else has seen any additional scenes other than the ones mentioned here, I'd appreciate you posting about it. Thanks!

It seems the imdb forums removed most of the info, however I picked up a copy of this film under the Club Dead title from a Mom and Pop video store that (until a week or so ago) was still open by me.

At any rate this version runs 81 mins (but will double check that) and in this edition there is no real title or credits, the film just picks up with the club dead title obviously super imposed. This version was released by Electric productions in the US at some point in the 80's.

I am about to make a dvd conversion now and will let you know if those two scenes mentioned show up as well as confirming the running time.

ok I made the dvd transfer of my version. Both cut scenes are present (well I am not so sure about the kitchen scene. I mean it is there but it was hard to see exactly what was going on because this vhs film print was *beep* seems from a 16mm source)

however mine was exactly 80 mins long. Therefore this could mean one of two things

a: The version I have has another 4 mins in it that has gone unnoticed or technically has not yet "been discovered"

or

B: the distributors of this Club Dead title version might have slowed down the print (using the opposite of time compression) and in this sense though running at 80 mins it is the same as the 76 min edition.

I will gladly supply my dvd copy for those wishing to make a comparison. It would be interesting to find out if indeed mine does have an extra unaccounted for 4 mins

I think if anything the TERROR ON THE MENU version is sped-up; it's probably sourced from a PAL master. I obtained a copy today and it seemed like the audio pitch was a little higher that the old Academy VHS.
