Terror House Filming Locations

Does anybody know where this was filmed? What a spooky house & beach! Thanks.

"Who gives a *beep* It's *beep*"

If you don't give a beep, then why did you bother making a post? Or even coming onto the board for this film?

My head hurts, my teeth itch, my feet stink, and I don't love Jesus.

According to John Kenneth Muir's excellent book, "Horror Films of the 1970s," it was made in Australia. But he does not give any more information. That said, it certainly doesn't seem like an Australian film (no accents) and IMDb lists it as being a U.S. film.

So there you go.

John Kenneth Muir's "Horror Films of the 1970s" is riddled with errors, this being one of them. THE FOLKS AT RED WOLF INN was filmed in Northern California, in the towns of Montecito, Piru and Redlands (with the inn being comprised of parts of three different houses). Maybe he's thinking of INN OF THE DAMNED, from a few years later, which is also a hospitality horror film (albeit a period piece) and was filmed in Australia.

The exterior of the house reminds me of the house at the end of PETS.

The exterior is the Newhall Mansion in Piru, CA. Same mansion that was used for Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark and Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo.

Thanks. I thought it was the house used in "Psycho". Wonder if they used the place for interior shots.

BTW, as of April 2012, you can pick the place up for only $2.4-mil. :-)

I think a lot of the interiors WERE shot there. The beach scenes look like they were shot at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura.

Thanks. Some day maybe I'll get up there for a tour. Looked like lots of neat period pieces there.
